Extending God´s compassion to the orphan by providing care and protection

Dorcas children´s home (DCH) started in 2006 with eleven children. Dorcas children home is in Kinango town, Kinango Division, Kwale district, coast province of Kenya E:A

The goal of the home is to develop disadvantaged children - poor, orphans into balanced and dependable people who are ready to develop themselves and their own community. To enable them to realize their full potentialities and make them enjoy normal life just like any other human being through councelling , education and spiritual guidance so they can fit in society when they become self reliant.

Kinango where the home is situated is a semi arid area with rainfalls below 500ml per annum hence suffers from perennial food shortage. Poor infrastructure, traditions characterized by illiteracy, witchcraft, polygamy and wife inheritance among other ills have resulted into high poverty levels and HIV/AIDS and orphaned children prone to sexual abuse and child labour.

The home continues to integrate more orphans from the community for protection and development. Please see our contacts and support page to see how you can be involved in partnership with us.

Dorcas children´s home (DCH)  was founded by pastor Jonathan Khakala and Mrs. Claris Mbeyu Kitty. Jonathan Kakhala is also pastor of the Redeemed gospel church Kinango and co-ordinator of the home.

The home is intended to serve as Gods instrument as shown in the Bible (Acts 9:36-39; James 1:6-7) that will endeavour to extend Gods compassion to the orphan by providing food, cloth housing and health care.

The parents with great heart.
